Google, Bing, IndexNow: use the right workflow for each
Why a single submitted badge cannot explain what every search engine knows about your pages.
Keep the engine next to the result
When you review a submission log, the first question should be which engine or protocol received the request. A notification to one destination is not evidence about another engine's index.
Use a separate checklist for each connection in your workspace. Record the property or host it covers, who owns the connection, and the last successful check. This makes a configuration problem easier to spot after a team or domain change.
Use Google's supported routes
For ordinary web pages, start with sitemaps and Search Console. Google's Indexing API is restricted to eligible job posting and livestream pages; it is not a general submission API for blog posts or product catalogs.
URL Inspection is useful for investigating a particular URL. A request to crawl and the eventual indexing decision remain separate events. Do not label a successful notification as proof that the page is indexed.
Review each connection independently
GetIndexed provides separate connections for Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster, and IndexNow notifications. Check each setup in Integrations rather than assuming that connecting one enables all of them.
For IndexNow, follow the published protocol and use it for participating engines. For Bing, check the configured site's access and the responses returned by your connection. Keep engine observations separate when you prepare a report for a client or teammate.
